Proudly Serving Hall Green Since 1945
Since its foundation in 1945, the Hall Green H.G. Club has stood as a beacon of community and tradition, a hidden gem in southeast Birmingham. Originally formed by members of the Home Guard after World War II, it emerged from two modest wooden buildings, with one serving as a “beer cellar” and neighbouring tennis club grounds that were soon leased and later purchased outright.
In 1962, two Nissen huts, humorously nicknamed the “Tunnel of Love”, housed members while the club’s lounge and snooker room were rebuilt. The 1970 addition of the "Don Dring Room" and later refurbishments following the rifle section’s disbandment in 1999, transformed these spaces into the current snooker lounge and function rooms named after key members Peter Moore and Don Dring.
Throughout those eight decades, membership has grown to exceed 400, offering a welcoming and respectful environment with excellent catering, favourable bar prices and a strong sense of community spirit.
80th Anniversary Week Celebrations: 6th–13th September 2025
This September, Hall Green H.G. Club marks 80 years at the heart of the community — and we’re celebrating with a full week of events open to members and the wider public. Whether you're a regular or it's your first time through our doors, there's something for everyone!
📅 Saturday 6th September – Stratford Races Twilight Meeting
Enjoy a fantastic day out including a buffet lunch at the club from 12 noon, coach travel to and from the racecourse, entry fee, and a fish & chip supper on return.

📅 Sunday 7th September – Community Open Day & 80s Disco
From 12 noon to 6.00pm, join us for a vibrant and inclusive day featuring:
Stalls and local traders
Music, food, games
Dog obedience displays
Morris Minors retro cars display
Dance and cheer demos
Live singers and much more!
🎶 80s Disco (indoors) from 6.30pm – all welcome!
📅 Monday 8th September – Raj Singh 2 Red Ball Knockout Snooker
Compete for the Raj Singh Cup in a 2 Red Ball Knockout Tournament.
Open to all – enrol between 6.30pm and 7.00pm.
Raffle prizes, food available, proceeds to charity.
A great atmosphere guaranteed!
📅 Tuesday 9th September – Big Birmingham Quiz
Test your knowledge of our great city!
With a special guest speaker, great fun and prizes to be won.
Food available from 6.00pm. All welcome!
📅 Wednesday 10th September – Caribbean Night
Celebrate the flavour and rhythm of the Caribbean!
Delicious cuisine, relaxed beats and a great atmosphere.
Food served from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. Open to all.
📅 Thursday 11th September – Bingo Night
A classic evening of fun and laughter.
Tickets on sale from 7.30pm, eyes down at 8.00pm.

Place your bets and enjoy a lively Friday night of racing and traditional games.
